'I walk the country paths and forest trails looking for small finds, those ephemeral traces which suggest shelter and growth but also fragility and loss:
winter birds in flight animate a threatening sky, a single feather found beside the muddy path, an empty nest found beneath a winter tree.
This spring and summer hedgerows welcomed me with their inviting greens and busy populations of bees and butterflies.'
